Liven Your Party with a Portable Photo Booth

Sometimes all it takes to turn a party from average to outstanding is the opportunity for guests to loosen up and get silly. While lots of parties rely on alcohol to create this mood, there are other alternatives. Everything from crazy games to silly dance numbers to a portable photo booth can help transport guests to a more carefree frame of mind.

Photo booths in particular are good for party goers who remember playing in booths as a kid. Back when photo booths were housed in shopping malls and even drug stores, kids, teens, and even couples on dates could dash into a booth to take a few silly or sentimental pictures. The silliness helped break the ice and the photos themselves served as a memory of the event.

Now transfer that experience to a party. Guests can take pictures in ones and twos or have a contest to see how many can get into the booth at once. The photos then become an instant party favor that they can keep for themselves or leave with their host as a thank you for a good time. Best of all, these pics can be customized to show the date, location and even a message from the host. Each one then becomes a unique reminder of the event — and an experience that can take the party to the next level of greatness.

Mixing Halloween & Theatre

Of all the holidays in the year, Halloween is the one that best lends itself to theatricality. After all, it’s the only one that encourages everyone to get into costume and assume a larger than life persona. The association between Halloween and the Rocky Horror Picture Show is proof of this connection. Mixing horror, crazy costumes and musical numbers, it blends theater and Halloween perfectly.

This year there may be a resurgence of RHPS costumes on October 31st. Not because of the movie itself, but because an upcoming episode of the hit tv series ‘Glee’s Halloween episode will feature a production of the stage version of the show. When popular tv characters put on the theatre costumes of Frank, Magenta, and Rocky Horror himself, it’s not a stretch to believe that their adolescent fans will follow suit.

Another example of the meeting of theater and Halloween is the ever-popular haunted house. Performers get to stage scenes designed to terrify (or amuse) attendees. Costumes, props, and music are all used in these scripted vignettes, just as on a theater stage. The intent is the same to entertain by showing the extremes of life, or in the case of Halloween, of death.
