A Very Long Engagement

There’s something irresistible about a diamond. They have a value that always far exceeds the cost, because they represent something that’s much more than money, and much harder to find. There are some who might feel that the extravagant wedding is something that’s too overdone in today’s culture. At the same time, there are many things that are overdone, and if there’s one thing worth putting effort into, it should be love. That is indeed why they say that diamonds are forever , because love is forever. A beautiful ring isn’t just a temporary symbol, it means that one has taken time and energy to invest their care in a symbol that will stay.

Making love stay is an obsession of artists and poets, and they have written thousands of verses, and created thousands of works, to investigate the question of how to make love stay. There are no easy answers, but it seems as though there are answers that lie in paying attention to the details. The kind of detail put into cushion cut engagement rings is a suggestion of how people have perceived the rules of love over time. The design and shapes come from an earlier time, and the diamonds are cut with the purpose of reflecting candlelight, to accentuate the beauty of the light and the ring. There may not be a more perfect symbol for eternal love.

Confidence is something that we all struggle with at some point in our lives. No matter how successful we have been, we all have moments of doubt when we are left wondering about our abilities. For many of us the time right after college is one of those periods where we wonder what we will do next and struggle with making the right decision. While there is nothing you can do to get rid of them completely, there are a few things that you can do to bring them under control instead of letting them control you.

There is a certain amount of predictability that comes with going to college — you know that each semester will bring a new set of classes, homework, professors and tests. However, after graduation comes the task of finding a ‘real’ job and standing on your own two feet .

One way to help boost your confidence before you graduate is by completing at least one internship. An internship is a great way to get experience in your field, begin networking, and build your confidence. Southwestern Company offers internships to students in a variety of fields, but business majors are the more common applicants. Not only do students learn important business skills but they are able to put them to the test every day. At Southwestern Company and similar internship programs, students set goals and work daily to achieve them.

Overcoming the butterflies that are sure to follow you to each of your post-college interviews won’t be easy; however, knowing that you not only have experience but the ability is sure to make the transition that much smoother.

Changing Your Domain Name to Optimize Your Search Results

Even if you just plan on using SEO tools you find and don’t want to hire a company to take care of your SEO needs, you should still work on optimizing your webpage for the best search results. One of the first things you need to do is work on is your domain name. Unless you are already a well known brand who is getting hundreds of thousands of hits a day, you can afford to change your domain name to something better.

Make sure you have a domain name that people can find. Some people choose some really bad domain names. It can be in the way it is spelled . Try not to make some sadly common mistakes like putting an “s” at the end of any word when the next word starts in “ex” as in express or in front of the word talk. You end up with something having to do with sex or stalking.

Don’t use a lot of dashes or underscores. It makes the URL hard to remember or to tell to other people. You want to be able to say it quickly.

Keep it short. If you don’t have to add more to it, then don’t.

Keep your keywords and/or your business name in the URL. This will make it easier for people to find if they are looking for you on a search engine.

What are your suggestions?
